The short version: we collect an email address if you give us one, we count things without knowing who you are, and we do not sell anything about you to anybody.
What we collect, and when
If you enter your email address
We store the address, the date, and which page you entered it on. That last one is so we know which guides are useful, not to build a profile.
The address is also sent to MailerLite, who send our email for us. Their privacy policy governs what they hold. We do not send them anything else about you.
Unsubscribing removes you from the mailing list immediately. Ask us to delete the record entirely and we will.
If you unlock the free library
We set one cookie in your browser so the library stays open on your device. It contains a random token and nothing about you — no name, no address, nothing readable. Clearing it locks the library again; the link in your welcome email reopens it.
Just by reading
Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period. We use them for security and nothing else.
We count page views and a small number of events — which links get clicked, whether a prompt was copied — in aggregate. Analytics that identify individuals are loaded only after you consent to them. Decline and the site works exactly the same.
What we do not do
- Sell, rent, or trade your address
- Load advertising trackers or social widgets
- Track you across other websites
- Require an account to read anything
What you can ask for
A copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. Email us and we will do it. There is no form and no process — it is one person reading the message.
Children
This site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. Some of our guides are about organising family life; they are addressed to the parent.
Changes
The date at the top of this page is the last time it changed. If we ever start doing something materially different with your data, subscribers get told by email rather than by a quiet edit.
